today was quite the adventure
yesterday, we had this big poodle up and die
they let it sit out and get all stiff and smelly before bagging it up
so today, the doctor came in and told me i was delivering a corpse to some necropsy place on the unm campus
i loaded the box into my truck (it's amazing how small you can wad up a dead animal >.> ), doctor drew me a map and sent me on my way
so here i am, cruising around down town albuquerque with a count: 1 female/spayed standard-size poodle dog, in the heat of the day mind you, decomposing fragrantly in the bed of my truck
visions of a rotting, melty dog tumbling from the bed of my truck and exploding on the hood of the car behind me filled my head
i kept imagining getting pulled over and having the cop look at me suspiciously
"yes, officer, i have a cadaver in the back of my truck"
"is that so?"
"go ahead and take a look, but don't make me touch it"
".....step out of the vehicle, ma'am."
*shakes head*
so yeah, by the time i got to unm, poodle dog was floating around in a soggy cardboard box with several melted ice packs
you can't imagine the grossness of carrying that thing around the animal morgue
fortunately, koalas are not easily grossed out, because i had my lunch break a little bit after i got back to the clinic
so yeah, now you know
when you request to have your beloved pet autopsied, they don't do it there in the clinic
they don't magically teleport it
they don't even hire a cheap courier service to deliver it
they send the lowest girl on the food chain because no one else has a truck >.>
and i'm way too tired to be allowed, so i think i'm skipping tucker's tonight =_=
anyway, hope everyone's having a good day
